In this article, we look at PAYE tax refunds for Domestic Glaziers in Hampton. We'll take a look at when and why Domestic Glaziers can claim tax back, and how to go about claiming.
If, like most domestic glaziers, you pay tax through the Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE) system, there's a strong chance that you could claim a flat-rate tax refund to cover various costs which are incurred as part of your job.
Glaziers who have to provide their own tools and equipment for work can claim this refund, as can any glazier who has to wear a work uniform. The Income Tax Act (2003) allows employees on PAYE to claim tax relief against the expenses which are incurred through work - so long as the costs have been wholly, exclusively and necessarily incurred (as is the case with tools, equipment, and uniforms). Once your application for tax relief has been approved by the tax office, the tax relief means you can earn more money each year before you have to start paying tax.
If you're providing your own tools and equipment for work, or wearing a uniform, you can claim deductions of up to £120 per year. You can usually backdate the claim too - often for up to six years. A claim which has been backdated to April 2004 will be worth around £600 tax relief.
A successfully backdated claim for £600 will result in a £127 cash refund being issued by HMRC.
Applications are usually completed within 10 days of receipt, though do bear in mind that timescales can vary somewhat according to delays at the Inland Revenue.
If you're a Domestic Glazier and want to claim Domestic Glazier's Tax Relief, you should act fast. The deadline for PAYE claims is approaching, after which you'll no longer be able to claim tax back from the 2004-5 tax year.
It takes a few minutes to complete an online application form for this refund - and with no hassle, no receipts, and no fuss. You'll be kept updated right the way through, start to finish.
